Him by Hanae Mori

Here we are a week before Labor Day and the melancholy of summer’s end is setting in. I plan on getting in at least one more beach day and BBQ before we say goodbye to summer 2012. With that, fall fragrance releases are here.

The famed fashion design house, Hanae Mori is launching its first men’s fragrance called Him. Destined to be in stores this fall, supporting press materials state the scent is “more than a decade of sculpting, refining and finishing the best ingredients demanded by man.” Whether or not that’s true, Him is worthy of your attention.

When I first sampled it, my initial thoughts were, not bad. It packs a powerful opening punch that’s fresh and delightfully spicy. But as the day passed on, I kept going back to it and was very pleased with how it developed. The dry down, becomes a crowd pleaser with its notes of cinnamon bark and amber.

Him by Hanae Mori is unabashedly masculine and those that purchase it will love it. Look for it in November at Nordstrom, Sephora and via the Hanae Mori website.

A sample of Him was sent to me prior to this review. It in no way influenced my review.

  1. This actually sounded nice to me. I’m glad to hear it didn’t disappoint.

    • Natalie, it’s an easy to comprehend scent. I can see a lot of guys liking this. If you sample it, share your thoughts.

  2. Sound like the perfect fragrance to usher in the new season.

  3. Does it remind you of any fragrance already released or have they made something new?
    Portia

    • Portia, that’s a good question. Crowd pleasers, to me, generally have elements that are familiar. This definitely smells familiar to me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, however. If you sample it, let me know your thoughts.
