It’s usually around this time of year that melancholy sets in for me. For so many years of my childhood, this part of the summer signaled the inevitable, the start of school was within sight. The jubilation that took over me on June 28th, the last day before summer break, was behind me as I began thinking of cooler days and homework assignments. I tell myself, “umm you’re an adult now and you won’t be walking to P.S. 161,” but it never works.
On the flipside, there are those moments when the joy of being a kid jumps right out of you and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. For instance, I was in a hotel recently flipping the channels and I came across an episode of Bugs Bunny. Naturally I stopped and watched as he cut Elmer Fudd’s hair with an opera playing in the background. Sheer happiness set in and I couldn’t even control it.
That’s exactly what happened recently when I discovered Diesel’s Only The Brave collaboration with Captain America. The iconic colors on the box and his shield jumped out at me and I was a kid all over again screaming, “mommy can I have that.” Naturally as a fragrance collector, I’ve already justified its purchase. But the artwork instantly took me back.
So, as the sun begins setting earlier and all of the back to school themed commercials take over the tube, this limited edition collaboration brings out the happy kid in me.
Diesel Only The Brave Captain America is a limited edition scent available at Macy’s for $67.50. Get it while supplies last.
