There is nothing like life’s moments to inspire you. That’s exactly what happened to Laura and Harry Slatkin after their son, David, was diagnosed with Autism. They joined forces with Suzanne and Bob Wright and founded Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy group. I learned of their endeavors when I joined them back in October of 2009 as they rang the NASDAQ’s closing bell in honor of Autism month.
Earlier this year, to celebrate Autism Speaks’ fifth anniversary, Nest Fragrances released Blue Garden and committed to donating its profits back to the organization. I present this candle to you today because New York City’s Empire State Building and other prominent buildings across North America and the world will turn blue tonight to raise awareness for autism and to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, April 2. This is a day for Autism organizations worldwide to present fundraising and awareness-raising events.
Available at Neiman Marcus and specialty stores nationwide for $32, it’s an airy, lush floral bouquet that perfectly welcomes the spring season. More importantly though, with 1 in 110 children affected by Autism, it’s money well spent.
Great looking candle
What a lovely gift for a worthy cause! Thank for raising our awareness.
And its smells great to boot.
Thanks for drawing attention to this cause and this lovely way to support it. What a great gift!
Thanks for checking in Manz. It’s money well spent.
