Moroccan Amber Reed Diffuser by Nest Fragrances

Moroccan Amber Diffuser by Nest Fragrances

I generally scent my home with candles and will occasionally use room sprays. Reed diffusers have never really been my thing; in particular because the one time I gave in and bought one, if I was lucky to catch the scent, it was because the wind happened to be blowing on that side of the room. After that experience, I wanted nothing to do with them. All of that changed, however, when Nest Fragrances contacted me about the launch of their newest collection.

What intrigued me most was that Nest Fragrances’ founder is Laura Slatkin, wife of Harry Slatkin, who is behind some of my favorite candles from Bath & Body Works. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the Slatkin brand name; Harry’s Fresh Bamboo candle is an excellent spring/summer home scent, and I recently became a fan of Laura’s Pumpkin Chai.

When I began smelling the diffuser a half-hour after setting it up, I thought, there must be a breeze on this side of the room. Later that night when I got home and I could still smell it, I took a mental note saying to myself, let’s give this another day or two before we begin singing its praises. To put this in perspective, the diffuser is set up in the entrance room to my apartment, which opens to a sizeable living room and dining room. Since I have to pass it daily, I didn’t want that to interfere with my judgment and I wanted to test how expansive this scent could be. After an eleven-day trial, I’m convinced the Nest Fragrances Reed Diffusers are a steal at $34 for a 5.9 Fl. Oz container.

The scent that has kept the front of my apartment smelling of earthy, warm, sweet woods is Moroccan Amber, which includes sweet patchouli, heliotrope, bergamot and eucalyptus. What I enjoy most is how subtle the scent is. It’s potent considering the size of the area where its resting but it isn’t overbearing. According to Nest, “The alcohol-free formulas release fragrance slowly and evenly into the air for approximately 90 days.” Half way into its lifespan, it will be time for me to switch to something lighter. I’ve got my eye on Moss & Mint.

If you’re looking for a change to your home scent routine, consider Nest Fragrances Reed Diffusers. They can be found at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and NiemanMarcus.com, select Holt Renfrew stores (Canada) and select specialty stores nationwide.

  1. I was quite surprised myself at how potent this diffuser is. Not only does it welcome me when I get home from a long day’s work but it is in the background throughout a good portion of our large living space. Having a husband with a great nose comes with obvious advantages but great products like this certainly help.
